Political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of Bangladesh

On June 14, 2024, the First Political Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Bangladesh were held in Baku. The Azerbaijani side was represented by Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs (Deputy Minister) Masud Bin Momen represented Bangladesh. 

During the meeting, discussions were held on the current state of relations between the two countries, expansion of cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian and other fields and future development prospects.

Deputy Minister E. Mammadov gave detailed information about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict phase, the mine clearance process in the liberated territories, as well as the restoration and construction works.

Within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), hosted by our country this year, it was emphasized that a favorable opportunity for new areas of cooperation has arisen.

The meeting also discussed cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations, strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations, promotion of tourism between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh, and other bilateral issues.
